Kansas abortion supporters of Planned Parenthood resume witch hunt against former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline

At ethics hearing Kline says grand jury secret agreement with Planned Parenthood “killed the process”

TOPEKA ? Former Attorney General Phill Kline returned to Kansas on Tuesday for a new round of attorney ethics hearings against him.

In Feb. and March Kline faced eight days of hearings on Count I for allegations of violations of Kansas Rules of Professional Conduct dealing with his investigations as Attorney General and Johnson County District Attorney of abortion clinics in Kansas. That matter has not yet been decided by the hearing panel.

On Tuesday a new round of hearings started on a Count II related to allegations that Kline misled a Grand Jury impaneled in Johnson County in late 2007 to investigate Planned Parenthood in Overland Park. That Grand Jury ended its investigation in March 2008 without any indictments.

Stephanie Hensel, who now lives in Colorado but had served as the grand jury foreperson, filed an attorney ethics complaint against Kline because she believed Kline’s office mislead the grand jury over which statutes should be enforced in which way.

Hensel said her experience and knowledge about mandatory reporters — those who must report possible crimes of child sexual abuse — was not consistent with instructions given the jury. Read story in Kansas Watchdog

Al said...: For some reason, what Ms. Hansel is saying just doesn't pass the smell test. I'd love to know what her stand on abortion is as well as her role in attempting to make an informal deal with Planned Parenthood.; July 22, 2011 4:50 AM
Rick said...: Al, thanks for the comment. I have been searching the internet to find out if she is pro-choice or not, as I believe she is. She and Hazlett both should be investigated. As I stated months ago, I will follow this case to the bitter end.; July 22, 2011 8:30 AM

This raises even more questions about her real reasons for the charges she filed. & makes me wonder even more what her REAL MOTIVES ARE. & does she have any connections to Planned Parenthood she has hidden as well?; July 23, 2011 1:46 AM
Rick said...: Al, I found that out on "Kansas Watchdog." I have done several searched on Google trying to find out if she has a previous connection to the abortion industry, but have not come up with anything. I'm still searching as I think it very possible there is.; July 23, 2011 9:23 AM

“I just checked the senator’s room again to see if he has expired yet,” the young orderly said. “He is still alive.”
“He is?”
“Yes, Nurse Jackson. He seems to be breathing normally.”
“I’ll go in and see him.” She turned toward the medical secretary and told her to call the senator’s family. Amelia Jackson left and went to the senator’s room.

An hour had passed and Senator Reynold Claypool’s two sons and one daughter were present in the former’s hospice room.
“We have two more minutes,” Dr. George Clemmons said to the family. “We need to turn off all of the life-saving equipment,” Turning to the nurse, he added, “Are you ready, Amelia?”.
“Yes, Doctor,” Amelia Jackson replied, moving toward the bed.
The two minutes went by slowly as the two medical personnel waited to terminate the life of Senator Reynold Claypool who had been in a coma since his auto accident ten years ago.
Amelia Jackson turned off the respirator while the doctor pulled out the feeding tube.
“This is a sad way to end a brilliant career,” Dr. Clemmons said. “But we had no choice.”
“I know,” Amelia Jackson said. “He had no choice either. In a coma, he had no say in the matter.”
“I understand,” the daughter said. “We all do.”
“With the respirator disconnected,” Clemmons said, “He won’t last more than a few minutes if that long. I’m going to the cafeteria for coffee. I’ve seen enough people die this week. I’ll let the nurse in the unit know it’s over for the Senator.”
“Fine, Doctor. I’m going to leave the family alone with the senator while I go down the hall to see Mrs. Grover. She’s a sweet old lady and her time will soon be up also.” Both professionals left Senator Claypool’s room.
On her way to Mrs. Grover’s room, Amelia thought, Mrs. Grover is totally innocent of her situation, but the senator is not. It took Amelia not more than twenty seconds to reach the room. “Good morning, Anna. How are we feeling this morning?”
“How are we feeling, Amelia?” I don’t know how you are feeling, but I’m not doing too well. However, I’m hanging in there.” The old woman smiled at the nurse.
“I know you are,” Amelia said, pulling up a chair to Mrs. Grover’s bed. “You are in good humor as always. I wish I could do something to help.”
“You have done a lot,” the old woman responded. “It is really not your fault. The law is the law.”
“Yes, unfortunately, it is,” the nurse answered. “But, it is a felonious act to try to prolong a person’s life that is over 80.”
“It gives me great joy,” Mrs. Grover said, “To live much longer than anyone expected. I think God is allowing me to live just to agitate the government.”
“Even in what pain you must be,” Amelia said. “But I admire you and I hope you live to be a hundred, in spite of the fact pain relievers are the only medicine you are allowed to take.”
“So far, I have outlived my oldest son who put me in this facility for the elderly which was designed for the elderly sick. He didn’t tell me that, but I know from some of my friends who were here and who have passed on. I have also outlived the doctor he talked into placing me here. Is that ironic or what?”
“You make me laugh, Anna,” Amelia said. “I have to go and visit with some relatives of an inmate who just died. I’ll visit you again this afternoon.”
“Thanks, Amelia. You’ve been sweet to me.”
“I don’t know anyone who can not be sweet to you, Anna.” Amelia left the room.

“Father is still breathing,” Fred Claypool, the senator’s older son said.”
“We did not think Father would make it this long,” Darlene said. “He was pretty smashed up when his small hydrogen car was hit by the trash truck. He lost quite a bit of blood before they extricated him from the wreckage.
“He is still breathing?” Amelia asked, surprised. She checked the heart monitor which was the only piece of equipment still hooked up to the old senator. “His heart is showing a steady rhythm. But, you know that this presents a problem.”
“I know,” Curtis, the younger son, said. “We know the law.”
“I’ll let you have more time to be with him,” Amelia said. “But I’ll have to notify the department.”
“Yes, we know,” Darlene said. “The law allows no exceptions.”
“The ironic thing is,” Fred said, “Is that Father was coming home from the senate after the crucial vote on Senate Bill 1005, The Termination of Life Bill. Father introduced an addition to the bill providing that after ten years in a coma, all life support was to be turned off.”
“Which we did,” Amelia said.
“And you are now required to call in the Euthanasia section of the Department of Health and Human Services and they will send someone over to kill father with a lethal injection.
“Unfortunately, that is what will happen.”
“The real unfortunate part of it is that Father voted for the bill and was only forty-six when the accident happened."

Amelia Jackson was at Anna Grover’s bedside a year and two months later as she died on her hundredth birthday.
