Thanksgiving 2007 has come and gone. I had wanted to write this and related articles before the weekend, but I got busy with other things. I hope to follow it with other articles pointing out the divine design in the beginning development of our nation.
The Mayflower was at anchor in what would be Provincetown, Massachusetts, on the 11th of November, 1620. The factions aboard the ship decided to minimize mutiny and any other foreseeable trouble that might occur. They made a decision to develop a ‘civil body politic,’ which they named the Mayflower Compact. Here is a modernized version of the Compact:
In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread sovereign, Lord King James by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland king, defender of the faith, etc.
Having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof, to enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony: unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape Cod, the 11th of November in the year of the reign of our sovereign Lord King James of England, France, and Ireland the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, Anno Domini, 1620.
You will notice several important points in the compact. One, the passengers desired to advance the Christian faith. Two, to develop a rule of law by creating a government. Three, to accomplish this under the government of God.
I hope everyone had a meaningful Thanksgiving.

L.I.F.E. Coalition News Release
The L.I.F.E. Coalition Citizen Grand Jury Petition Approved By
District Court Panel to investigate Planned Parenthood to convene
on December 3, 2007
JOHNSON COUNTY, KS - November 10, 2007 - The required majority of district court judges have certified the L.I.F.E. Coalition citizen petition to call for a grand jury investigation of Planned Parenthood in Over land Park. The grand jury is expected to be convened on Monday, December 3, 2007.
Tim Golba, spokesman for the L.I.F.E Coalition stated that the concerns of the citizens of Johnson County are being taken seriously.
He commended both the Johnson County Election Board and the District Court for their quick action to allow the process to proceed as soon as possible (both signature verification by the Election Commission as well as the District Court certification of the petition's compliance of statutory form requirements occurred in about two weeks).
Golba expressed hope that Attorney General Paul Morrison and the Kansas Supreme Court will also demonstrate the same respect for the law and citizen concerns. He said, "This is a black and white petition request that should face no barriers to the jury convening on the District Court's schedule."
"It will be a shameful day for Kansas if political conflicts of interest are allowed to again interfere with the citizen's right to directly petition the courts."

Derby, A City That Stood Up to Family Values
Phil Cosby
Coalition Friends, I want to thank you who take a stand and pray. Progress is being made ever so gradually as we confront strongholds in this highly sexualized culture.
LOOK AT DERBY! I want to cheer those citizens in Derby Kansas and their stand this week ("This is a moral community and your bringing immoral issues into it," said one Derby resident. State Representative Don Meyer was on the front line. Protestors are upset that family video rents movies they say are not so family friendly. Read article: http://www.ksn.com/news/local/11228256.html) May we all know what it is like to have passion in protecting our communities and children. Which city will rise up next and meet the challenge?
The Kansas Supreme court has really mistepped. By delaying the lawful seating of a Wichita Grand Jury's investigation of abortionist George Tiller they have denied justice and the law. The implications of a corrupt buddy system that is giving cover for and a wink and a nod to Tiller is alarming.
I think we can see on the horizon some courageous legislators seeking ways to challenge the Kansas Supreme courts hijacking of justice. How do you spell "impeachment"?
I often have interviews but here is an interesting one. Next week the German news magazine Der Spiegel (The Mirror) is coming to do a story on the porn wars in Kansas for their European edition.
Oh Lord may you awaken us, give is light and courage to make a difference. Did you ever think we would see the day that pornographers and abortionists had more protection than children?
